Gary L. Christopherson is a Ph.D. candidate in the Near East Studies Department, and a Research Assistant in the Advanced Resource Technology Group at The University of Arizona. He has been associated with the Madaba Plains Project since 1987, where he is a Field Director in charge of archaeological survey. Robert G. Boling was a professor at McCormick Theological Seminary. He was a Field Supervisor on the Tall al-'Umayri archaeological survey during the 1984 season. Professor Boling was killed in a 1995 automobile accident while conducting research in Jordan.
Jon Cole Ph.D., is Professor of Engineering, Director of Bioengineering and Director of Environmental Studies at Walla Walla College. He has been associated with the Madaba Plains Project since 1984, where he has served as Field Supervisor of the random square field survey and Field Supervisor of the subsurface mapping project. David C. Hopkins holds the position of Professor of Hebrew Scripture at Wesley Theological Seminary where for ten years he has shared faculty duties with his wife, Denise Dombkowski Hopkins. Previously he taught for six years at Lancaster Theological Seminary. Dr. Hopkins received a B.S. from Trinity College (Hartford) and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University. Part of the Madaba Plains Project since 1989, he currently serves as a survey field supervisor, conducting excavations in the hinterlands of Tall al-Umayri.
